NJHS Induction Ceremony

05.10.12 ~ The 2012 - 2013 NJHS Induction Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 15 in the cafeteria. New and current members will meet in the community room no later than 5:30 pm. Doors will open to parents at 6:00 pm. Please see Mrs. Smith for any questions...

National Junior Honor Society Applications

04.10.12 ~ Attention current 6th and 7th grade students and parents! If you have qualified for an NJHS application, for consideration in next year's NJHS group, an application will be attached to your report card at parent/teacher conferences. Please be aware that your application deadline will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 3 pm. All applications must be turned in to Mrs. Smith, before or after school, in rooms 117 or 307. No late applications will be accepted and no applications will be taken in the office. Good luck!..

Patriot's Pen Essay Contest

04.10.12 ~ Students from Mrs. Brindley’s class participated in this year’s Patriot’s Pen essay contest. The contest is sponsored by the Veteran’s of Foreign War (VFW), Ladies Auxiliary and is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students enrolled in public, private, or parochial schools in the United States. Students are judged on, knowledge of theme, development of theme, and clarity of ideas. This year’s theme was, “Are You Proud of Your Country?” Four students placed in the essay contest, first place went to Sejeia Freelon, won a $125 gift certificate from Barnes and Nobles. Second place went to Hannah Woofter, received a $75 gift certificate from Barnes and Nobles. Third place went to, Raymond Bowers, received a $40 gift certificate from Barnes and Nobles as well. Additionally, Alexandra Freedman placed first winning a $100 gift certificate from Best Buy. Congratulations to the winners...

04.05.12 ~  our Technology Student Association! ~ They traveled to Waco and competed in the State competition. The team of Justen Horten, Brittney Wilkerson and Calvin Jackson won first place in Medical Technology and will go to Tennessee to compete in the National contest.
